Buying a new desktop PC - Dell
The National Procurement Service ran a tender on behalf of all public sector bodies, and the Universities have pooled their purchasing power and entered into a framework agreement with Dell.
IT Services have selected a PC desktop from Dell which is suitable for use by UCD staff for administrative, academic and research purposes. It can be upgraded using the Dell UCD Premier Pages with additional RAM etc. Included in the base cost of this desktop is a 5 year warranty along with hardware Pro support arrangements which ensure next business day Engineer Support onsite if a repair is necessary.
The PC is supplied with an image provided by UCD IT Services, with Windows 7 Professional. Sophos Anti Virus and the Novell Client installer are ready for you to install when you receive your PC.
Installation and removal of packaging are not included in this cost. If you require this extra service, you can ask Dell or one of our other selected companies for a quote.
Buying a new laptop PC - Dell
The National Procurement Service have also completed a tender for the supply of laptops on behalf of the Universities, similar for the supply of desktops as outlined above and Dell has also been awarded this agreement.
3 laptops have been selected and are now published on the Dell premier pages.
These laptops are also supplied with an image provided by UCD IT Services, with Windows 7 Professional. Sophos Anti Virus and the Novell Client installer are ready for you to install when you receive your laptop.
Purchasing the Dell desktop or laptop PCs
Login to the Dell Premier Page here (You will first be prompted to login to your UCD account). You will be asked to set up your Premier Page login the first time you access this page.
You can either print off your chosen specification from the Premier page (this acts as your official quote from Dell) or you can save it in the basket and email m_hughes@dell.com with the basket or e-quote number. Your order will then be processed automatically.
Note: You can also buy keyboards, a mouse, RAM, software, printer parts or other consumables through the Dell Premier Pages at a discounted rate.

We have negotiated as standard for these PC and laptops a 5 years next-business-day, on-site service.
