Step by step instructions on setting up eduroam on Mac OS 10.3 Panther and 10.4 Tiger
Step 1
From the Apple menu, select System Preferences. Click once on the Network system preference in the Internet & Network section. Select AirPort and click Configure.
Step 2
Click TCP/IP. Set configure IPv4 to Using DHCP. Close the Network system preference pane and quit from System Preferences.
Step 3
Open Applications – Internet Connect. From its file menu, select 802.1X on the top bar. Choose “Edit Configurations” from the pull down menu.
Step 4
Click the “+” symbol at the bottom of the configurations list to add the configuration for eduroam. Enter “eduroam” for the Description. Enter your UCD Connect username (add @ucd.ie to the end of it) and your UCD Connect password. Tick the TTLS checkbox.
Step 5
Click Configure. Make sure “TTLS Inner authentication” is set to “PAP”. Enter “anonymous” for the Outer Identity. Click OK.
Step 6
To install the CA Certificate, click on the following link: CA Certificate

Open the file just downloaded and when asked “Do you want to add the certificate to a keychain”, change the Keychain option to System and click OK.
Step 8
Click on the AirPort icon in the menu bar and choose eduroam. You should now be connected to eduroam. You may get a box stating that the server certificate is not trusted. Click Show Certificate. Choose Always Trust from the drop down menu. Click OK.
Using eduroam outside UCD
All usernames will have to contain the home institution’s domain name. Here at UCD our domain is 'ucd.ie'.
To authenticate enter your UCD Connect username followed by the domain in the format username@ucd.ie and then your UCD Connect password.
