How to set-up your UCD email in Outlook 2003 (Staff)

Follow these steps to set-up your UCD e-mail in Outlook 2003. 


Step 1

Start Outlook 2003.

Click Tools at the top of the screen.

Step 2

Click E-mail Accounts. Then click Add a new E-mail account. Click Next.

Step 3

Choose IMAP as Server Type.  Click Next.

Step 4

In the E-mail Accounts Window specify the following information:

Your Name and E-mail Address - this should be in the format: firstname.lastname@ucd.ie

Click Next.

Step 5

Set the incoming mail server to IMAP.

Staff

  • Incoming mail server: imap.ucd.ie
  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.ucd.ie

Click Next.

Step 6

In the Logon Information window - the User Name and Password are the same as your UCD Connect username and password.

Click on More Settings -

In the General tab, specify your Reply email address

Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication

In Advanced tab

   Incoming server - 993

   Outgoing server - 587

Select This server requires an encrypted connection for both

Click Next.

Step 7

Click Finish.  Your email is now set-up.
