How to set-up your UCD email in Thunderbird (Staff)

Follow these steps to set-up your UCD e-mail in Thunderbird.
Step 1
Start Thunderbird.
Click Tools at the top of the screen.
Click Account settings.
Step 2
For Account name enter your UCD username.
For Your Name enter your firstname and lastname.
Enter both your E-mail Address and Reply-to Address.
Step 3
Under Server Settings - enter the following details:
- Server Name : imap.ucd.ie
- User Name: UCD Connect login name
- Port : 993
- Security Settings – Connection Security choose SSL/TLS
For the Outgoing Server(SMTP) - the settings are as follows:
- Server name: smtp.ucd.ie
- Port: 587
- Connection Security : STARTTLS
Your email is now set-up.
