How to access the shared directory or S: drive

There are 2 ways to access the shared directory or S: drive.


1. Access via UCD Connect
Step A

Login to UCD Connect. Find out how to login to UCD Connect.

Step B

In the My Files channel, click on the S: link.

This will open the shared directory.

For access to particular folders, contact the Helpdesk on ext. 2700

Find out how to open, close and save files in your S drive via UCD Connect.

2. Access via the UCD (‘Novell’) network

This procedure only works for computers that use Microsoft Windows operating system.

Step A

Login to the UCD network (via the ‘Novell’ login). Find out how to login to the network.

Step B

Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.

A new window will open.

Step C

The S: drive will be listed as one of your directories.

You can now the S: drive in the same way as any other directory on your computer.

Apple Mac users: The shared directory or S: drive can be accessed via https://netstoragevm.ucd.ie. Please login with your UCD Connect account details.
