Health Checks for all staff PCs
IT Services staff will call to your building to perform health checks on staff PCs. The health check involves antivirus scans, service packs and patches being applied as well as numerous other checks. The necessary work should normally take no more than 30 mins however this can vary considerably depending on the age of your machine and the Operating System involved.
No appointments are necessary; we will call again if the time does not suit.
All staff computers that are running the following Operating Systems will be health checked:
- Windows XP
- MAC OS X
- Windows Vista (A ‘best effort’ health check will be carried out as the Windows Vista Operating System is not supported on the University’s network )
Please Note: The following won’t be health checked:
computers running the following un-supported Operating Systems
- Windows 95
- Windows 98
- Windows 2000
- MAC OS9
and computers running the following Operating Systems

UCD IT Services will take reasonable care to ensure that no damage to staff PCs will occur during the performance of the Health Checks. However, should the work undertaken in good faith result in any damage, UCD IT Services accept no liability for damage to equipment or loss of data.
