How to register a new printer on the UCD network
Last Updated: 06/10/08
Whenever you buy a new printer, you must register it with IT Services before you can use it on the UCD network.
Get the ethernet address of your printer.
An ethernet address is a 12 digit code, e.g. 00:08:4a:f9:d5:30.
Print a ‘configuration’ page from your printer.
Instructions on how to do this should be included in the printer's documentation or on the manufacturer's website.
The printer’s ethernet address will be printed on the configuration page.
When the printer is registered, follow the instructions for connecting to it over the network, with reference to your computer’s operating system.
