Managing your Funded Research Grants online

IT Services, together with UCD Research, support a system called RMS Grants incorporating two key modules: Grant Registration and Grant Reporting.

In early 2010, the Grant Reporting service was rolled out university-wide to UCD researchers, enabling them to view and manage their portfolio of funded research grants online.

In the summer of 2010, the Grant Registration service was rolled out to the College of Engineering, Mathematical & Physical Sciences and, more recently, in January 2011 this service was made available to researchers in the College of Life Sciences. The plan is to roll this out university-wide over the coming months.

Using the Grant Registration service, researchers can electronically create and submit a Grant Registration Form (GRF) for approval of their funded research project, replacing the current paper-based process. Once submitted, researchers can view and track the grant registration through the various stages of the approval process. When approved, the grant details are automatically transferred to eFinancials - UCD’s finance system - where a financial account is setup for the project.
Grant Reporting is the reporting component of RMS Grants and it enables researchers to view and manage their portfolio of existing grants, providing easy access to information such as project details, team members, budgets and expenditure.  The lead investigator, and authorised project team members, can view and maintain details of their grant online during the lifetime of the project.

RMS Grants may be accessed via the Administrative Services tab on UCD Connect using your Connect username and password, or via the UCD Research website.
