Clinical Placements Application (ARC)

The ARC Clinical Allocations System is a management information system to support the administration of nursing students with regards to their clinical placements requirements. The purpose of the system is to validate each nursing student has gained the required experience in the specific clinical placement areas as recommended by An Bord Altranais.
In UCD the system is integrated with the Student Information System, the source of the student record data. The ARC system manages the processes around allocating students to their placements. It holds detailed information on attendance assessment and placement requirements which is available via the web for the students to access. The system also facilitates remote access from the hospitals to maintain the attendance details.

Access and Support

The application is hosted and supported by Arc Technology Ltd and is available via the internet for students, tutors and authorised hospital staff. It is administered in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems who manage student access to the system.
