Media Services and UCD Pathology designed and developed the Pathology etutorial. This is an online case study of colorectal cancer, where a medical student has to perform a simulated consultation and examination of a virtual patient with the goal of diagnosing and treating their illness. The etutorial includes an online notepad where the students can record their reflections and observations. Development was part-funded by a President's Teaching Grant.

As part of the strategic initiative in elearning, Media Services' has developed templates to help lecturers create media-rich interactive elearning. These templates allow lecturers to combine images, video and animation with a variety of question types. FlashForm (formerly Flash Companion) converts the template content into web pages, which can be uploaded to Blackboard. Media Services' provides courses in design for online learning and in the use of these templates.
