Did you know that almost 85% of UCD students own laptops?
EDUCAUSE Centre for Applied Research (ECAR) survey figures from 2008 show that almost 85% of UCD students own laptops (an increase from the previous year's survey indicating 74% ownership).
According to the ECAR study of undergraduate students and information technology 2008, 67% own desktops and one third own both a laptop and a desktop.
Results for the ECAR survey 2009 will be available towards the end of the year and are expected to indicate a further increase in ownership.
Laptop areas are provided for students to plug in and charge their laptops at the IT Centres and other central points around campus.
