Google Search Usage Grows
Since the introduction of the Google Search Appliance (GSA) on the UCD website in November 2008 usage has grown for both internal and external visitors. The GSA dealt with over 74,000 distinct searches during April 2009 - weekday averages are regularly in excess of 3000 individual searches. Figure 1 below presents weekday searches for April 2009.
The GSA is now fully integrated with our new Content Management System, Sitemanager and all CMS sites automatically have the Google search applied to their local content. Please visit http://www.ucd.ie/sbbs to view this type of implementation.
