Edugate - Gateway to the Education and Research Cloud
UCD IT Services in partnership with HEAnet, who are Ireland’s National Research & Education Network, launched Edugate at the HEAnet conference last week.
Edugate is a new federated access service that allows educational institutions in Ireland to share and access online resources in a far more efficient model than before and offers secure access to campus and cloud resources.
Sample services that Edugate provides will include:
• Multi-institutional researcher access to the National Digital Learning Repository (NDLR)
• Online discount on the HEAnet/O2 mobile broadband deal via www.campus.ie
• e-Book and scholarly journals access for libraries from publishers such as Dawson Books
In the coming months we will be producing channels in UCD Connect that will bring you directly to some of these services. To access these services just look out for the Edugate logo and then login by selecting University College Dublin and use your UCD Connect username and password.
