Adding Course Content

Open All

To upload a file to your course, follow these instructions:

  1. Ensure Edit Mode is set to “ON”. This option is available on the top right of the screen.
  2. Select a Content Area you want to upload to (e.g. Course Documents)
  3. Select the Build Content tab and choose Item.
  4. Enter a name for the file link
  5. Click the Browse My Computer button and select the file to upload
  6. Click Submit

 

The Create Assessment menu is used to add tests, surveys and assignments. Assignments. Submissions can be viewed and graded through the Blackboard Grade Centre application.
To post an assignment for students:

  1. Ensure the Edit Mode option is set to “on”
  2. Select a Content Area to add the assignment to (e.g. Assignments)
  3. From the Assessment tab choose the Assignment option
  4. Set the Assignment name
  5. If necessary, attach a file
  6. Under the Grading section you can enter the Points Possible for the assignment. If you wish to check for plagiarism you can select the check box under the Submission Details option
  7. Make the assignment available (default) or unavailable to students
  8. If using the Alerts or To Do notifications, set a due date for the assignment
  9. Click Submit

Content items can be grouped into folders, for easier organization.
To create a folder, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure Edit Mode is set to “ON”
  2. Select a Content Area to add the folder to (e.g. Course Documents)
  3. Select the Build Content tab, and choose the Content Folder option
  4. Enter a name for the folder
  5. Click Submit

This process can be repeated, to add Web addresses, tools, or links to other course areas.

Individual content items can now be re-ordered using drag-and-drop functionality. To change the order in which content items are listed, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure Edit Mode is set to “ON”
  2. Select a Content Area to update (e.g. Assignments)
  3. To move a content item to a different position, click on the twin arrow symbol to the left of the item and drag it to the new position
