IT Security @ UCD Course
Research IT Services is now offering the opportunity to attend the Security @ UCD course; aimed specifically at researchers the course deals with security issues likely to be encountered on the UCD network.
Places on the course are limited.
The course will be delivered by the UCD IT Services Security Officer.
When
The course, split over five half days for your convenience, will be run as follows:
- Thursday 12th April 2012 -Morning 10:00 to 13:00
- Thursday 19th April 2012 - Morning 10:00 to 13:00
- Thursday 26th April 2012 - Morning 10:00 to 13:00
- Thursday 3rd May 2012 - Morning 10:00 to 13:00
- Thursday 10th May 2012 - Morning 10:00 to 13:00
Please ensure that you arrive in plenty of time on the first day in order to find the the room and sign in. Attendance is required at all four sessions to complete the course.
Where
This year the course will be hosted in the Daedalus Building - Collaboration and Visualisation Space
What
The course will cover a wide range of security topics relevant to systems administrators in UCD.
Access and Support
Attendance, Places & Materials:
- Attendance is required at all four sessions to complete the course.
- The delivery method for the course requires that places are limited and as such are allocated on a first come basis.
- A laptop is is recommended for the hands on sessions, the number of which will be increased this year.
- The room in which the course is held is equipped with wireless network access and sufficient power points to facilitate laptop use.
- There are no fixed PC's in the room.
- All course notes are supplied.
