The Irish experience of conflict resolution in a comparative context
Siobhan Byrne is post-doctoral fellow in the John Hume Institute for Global Irish Studies and the School of Politics and International Relations, UCD. She completed her doctorate in the Department of Political Studies, Queen's University in January 2009. As part of her research, Siobhan conducted ten months of fieldwork related in 2005 as a Rabin Scholar at the Gilo Center for Citizenship, Democracy and Civic Education, Hebrew University, Jerusalem. In 2005-06, she completed four months of fieldwork related to her thesis at the University College Dublin and Queen's University, Belfast. Her primary areas of research are feminist peace activism and peace building in societies in transition from conflict. Siobhan will be joining the faculty in the Department of Political Science, University of Alberta in the fall 2009.
