Admission Requirements:

  • Applications for admission to the LLM programme are invited from graduates
  • holding at least a good honours law degree, a law-based interdisciplinary degree or equivalent (including professional examinations, professional experience).
  • Admission to the programme is at the discretion of Postgraduate Board.
  • The programme can be studied on either a part time ( 2 to 4 years) or full time (1 year) basis.
  • Two Academic references are required.
  • UCD students need not provide transcripts or references.

Master in Common Law Degree (MCL)

Admission Requirements:

  • Admissions for the MCL are open to Graduates (and graduands) with an upper second class degree in a non-law subject or in which law was not a minor.  
  • The MCL will have an initial intake of 15 students.
  • Applications for the programme will be made through the University’s on-line application system.
  • The programme is offered  full time over 2 years.
  • Two academic references are required.
  • UCD students need not provide transcripts or references.

Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice  Degree (MSc)

Admission Requirements:

  • At least a 2.1 honours degree in Sociology, Politics, Psychology, History or another subject relevant to criminology. Unless you are a UCD student we will need your original transcripts.
  • Two Academic references  unless you are a UCD student

The programme can be studied on either a part time (2 years) or full time (1 year) basis.

Admission to the programme is at the discretion of the School’s Postgraduate Board.

Admission Requirements:

  • Applications will be considered from a. Practising barristers or solicitors b. Barristers or solicitors actively engaged in legally connected employment, c. Graduates holding an approved university degree or law-based interdisciplinary university degree, d. Persons with other academic and/or professional qualifications and/or such experiences as would satisfy the School that they are able to participate on this course.
  • This programme is offered over 1 year.
  • Please note that two academic or professional references are required.
  • UCD students need not provide transcripts or references.

Admission Requirements:

  • Applications for admission to the Programme are invited from practising barristers or solicitors, barristers or solicitors working in personnel management or employed by trade unions or employer associations and graduates holding an approved university law degree or law-based inter disciplinary university degree or equivalent.
  • Applications will also be considered from the holders of academic and/or professional qualifications and/or proof of such experience as satisfy the School of Law that they are able to participate fully in the course.
  • This programme is offered over 1 year.
