UCD School of Law ranked in Top 100 Global Law Schools
UCD School of Law has been included in the QS University Rankings® list of the world’s top 100 universities for law, with the ranking determined by reference to academic reputation of the law school, academic reputation of the University overall, and citations of scholarship by academics within the School. This achievement reflects the strength of research and teaching taking place within UCD School of Law and complements the School’s ranking as one of the top-50 non-US Law Schools by reference to downloads of scholarship published on the Social Sciences Research Network where the School holds a Working Paper Series.
UCD School of Law is home to two leading research centres (the UCD Institute of Criminology, and the UCD Centre for Regulation and Governance), dozens of PhD candidates, and more than 20 world leading academic researchers. In addition, academics within the School publish regularly in highly regarded law journals and with some of the world’s most prestigious publishing houses. In the past twelve months, members of the School have published articles in journals such as the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies, Human Rights Quarterly, American Journal of Legal History, American Journal of Comparative Law and the Journal of Law and Society and published books with Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press among others. In addition, UCD School of Law academics have been selected as the new editors of the A* journal, Legal Studies, and the internationally recognised Irish Jurist continues to be edited within the School under the leadership of Prof. Paul O’Connor.
The School’s commitment to, and recognition as a centre of, world leading legal research not only ensures that the School continues to play a central role in the development of legal knowledge but also enriches the undergraduate and postgraduate experience of our students, who are taught by—and sometimes work on projects with—some of the world’s leading scholars.
