GOAL Jersey Day
The School of Law took part in the annual GOAL Jersey Day on Friday, 3rd October.
The fundraising was organised by Mary-Catherine Lucey, a lecturer in the School, along with 8 volunteers from 1st year Law students as well as School of Law staff. “I wanted to give students, especially first years, an opportunity to chat to classmates that they didn’t know well - hopefully wearing a favourite jersey helped them start a conversation”, said Mary-Catherine. Students and staff were given the opportunity to show their support of their favourite club, county or country, while also supporting those most in need in the developing world.
Volunteers collected in the courtyard of the School of Law, after lectures, and also on the main campus in Belfield.
The School raised €126 for which www.goal.ie have said they are very grateful. All money raised on Jersey Day is spent on the poor in developing countries and so is going to a very worthy cause.
