Dr Eoin Daly joins UCD School of Law

  

Eoin Daly has joined the School of Law as a lecturer. He will be coordinator of the Law and French programmes and is teaching Constitutional Frameworks, Introduction to Civil Law, Advanced Legal Theory, and a new module in Law, Religion and Secularism. Prior to joining the School, Eoin worked at the School of Law and Government at DCU, and completed a PhD at UCC, where he also received a BCL (Law and French) degree. His research interests lie primarily in the areas of constitutional law and political theory, with a focus on religious freedom, the separation of church and state, theories of justice, republicanism and John Rawls' political liberalism. His most recent publications include a book entitled Religion, Law and the Irish State (Clarus, 2012), and a paper in the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies on the relationship between political liberalism and constitutional secularism in France. Eoin is currently working on a number of papers investigating the role of austerity in republican constitutional theory.
