Third Annual Conference of the Irish Society of Comparative Law
On Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April, the UCD Law School will host the Third Annual Conference of the Irish Society of Comparative Law. Fifty papers will be given on various areas of law in a comparative perspective with speakers from Europe and North America. Friday is dedicated to the Annual General Meeting of the Society and a first keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Eric Descheemaeker, University of Edinburgh, UK on ‘The Dangers of Mixing It Up – Some Remarks on Defamation and Truth in Civilian, Common-law and Mixed Jurisdictions’. The conference will take the form of parallel sessions on the Saturday with a second keynote address to close the conference delivered by Professor H. Patrick Glenn, McGill University, Quebec, Canada on ‘Comparative Law and the Multi Valued Turn’.
