UCD School of Law Conferring

On Wednesday, 1st September 2010, the UCD School of Law Conferring took place in O’Reilly Hall, Belfield.  Over 230 students were conferred with various degrees including the Bachelor of Civil Law, Bachelor of Business and Law and BCL Maitrise. Claire Hamilton was conferred with a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy.  The guest of honour at the Conferring was the Attorney General Paul Gallagher SC, himself a graduate of the Law School. Mr. Gallagher addressed the students with words of encouragement and advice for their future careers in the legal field.

Later that evening, at the annual School of Law Dinner in the Four Seasons Hotel, Ballsbridge, Mr. Gallagher addressed the UCD School of Law Faculty and invited guests, including members of the Judiciary, the Bar Council and other distinguished members of the profession. Mr. Gallagher spoke on the topic of relativism and the rule of law.
