Joanne O’Toole Byrne returned to education after nearly twenty years in the legal administration and holds BCL and LL.M degrees from UCD. In 2010 she was awarded the UCD School of Law doctoral scholarship. Her thesis concerns principles of therapeutic jurisprudence and particularly in-prison programmes with particular focus on human-animal interaction projects. Her research is supervised by Prof. Ian O’Donnell.
