UCD Ad Astra Scholarship

The UCD Ad Astra Scholarships programme is now available to students based on their performance in their Stage 1 assessments.

UCD is strongly committed to encouraging students with exceptional talents to develop their abilities to their full potential. The UCD Ad Astra Academy supports high calibre students by allowing them to reach their maximum potential inside and outside the classroom and offers a tailored package of supports that will foster and challenge its students, not only to achieve, but also to excel.

Each year up to 17 academic scholarships are awarded to current students across the university based on academic achievement in Stage 1 of their programme.

General Criteria for Eligibility:

A minimum stage GPA of 3.68 is required.
The student must have obtained 60 graded ECTS and meet the progression requirements of their programme.
Where two or more students achieve the same GPA, the student with the higher proportion of A+ should receive the scholarship.
A student must be registered in the University in order to receive the benefits of the UCD Ad Astra Academic scholarship.

The support of a dedicated academic mentor
Access to advanced modules
Participation in Universitas 21 events
A place on graduate programmes, subject to meeting normal entry requirements
Attendance at workshops and seminars given by academics, distinguished alumni and guest speakers throughout the year to encourage the scholars’ academic and personal development.
50% fee remission (subject to a maximum remission of €4000) plus a generous bursary.

Academy membership and benefits are awarded for the normal duration of the degree, subject to annual review of continued high performance.
