Biography:
| Suzanne has lectured at UCD since 2007. She has published widely on EU law issues in leading international peer-reviewed journals, including in the fields of EU competition law, EU environmental law, EU taxation law and EU human rights law. Her work has been cited by the EU's judiciary. Recent significant publications include the monograph Greening EU Competition Law and Policy (Cambridge University Press, October 2011, shortlisted for the Society of Legal Scholars' 2012 Peter Birks Prize for Outstanding Legal Scholarship) and (as editor and contributor) European Perspectives on Environmental Law and Policy (Routledge, 2012). She has been a visiting lecturer at Cambridge University, the University of Leiden, Queen's University, Belfast, and Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, and is frequently invited to speak on EU-related issues at international and domestic conferences. She is a principal investigator at UCD's Earth Institute and a member of the UCD Centre for Regulation and Governance and the Dublin European Institute. |
Research Interests
| Suzanne's research focuses primarily on EU law and policy and its interplay with national and international law. To date, her research has centred on:
She has a particular interest in interdisciplinary approaches, especially law/economics, law/political theory, and (especially in the environmental law context) law/science. Her PhD research considered the role of environmental protection in EU competition law and policy, examining this issue from legal, economic and governance perspectives. |
