Fiona has also held visiting positions in the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, Emory Law School, (2006 and 2009), University of Peshawar (Pakistan) and University of Minnesota School of Law.

Specialising in the relationships between counter-terrorism, human rights, and internationalisation Fiona's work has been published in leading journals including the American Journal of Comparative Law, the Oxford Journal of Legal Studies and the Modern Law Review. Fiona also publishes on Irish law, in particular on the ECHR Act 2003 (The European Convention on Human Rights Act: Operation, Impact and Analysis (2010, Round Hall, with Cliona Kelly)) and property law (Principles of Property Law (2007, Clarus Press)). Fiona also contributes annual reports to the Annual Review of Irish Law (on land law, conveyancing and landlord and tenant) and the Irish Yearbook of International Law (on international law in Ireland). You can read some of Fiona's research on her SSRN page.

Fiona also presents her research regularly either at conferences or in guest lectures and colloquia. She blogs at the celebrated international law blog IntLawGrrls and at Human Rights in Ireland, which she founded in August 2009 and of which she is an editor.

Fiona is currently the Assistant Director of Doctoral Studies for the UCD School of Law and is interested in hearing from prospective PhD students in the areas of human rights, counter-terrorism, and securitisation generally.
