Through the UCD Access and Lifelong Learning Programme, students from a variety of backgrounds including mature students (over 23 years of age), school leavers from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds and those with a disability are encouraged to progress and succeed at UCD.

However, many struggle financially with staying at UCD due to rising education costs, travel and rent, despite having overcome significant barriers initially to gain their place.  Each year, a number of Cothram na Féinne (fair play) Scholarships are available to students who urgently need that support but still only 1 in 4 students with exceptional challenges receive any financial intervention.

Our aim is to provide Cothram na Féinne Scholarships for all students from disadvantaged backgrounds, who require that support, to help cover accommodation, transport, subsistence and books, enabling them to study and participate in university life on an equal footing with their peers.
