Overview

This seminar is for all staff at UCD. Whether you are lacking confidence, facing illness, coping with loss, working in a high-stress job, suffering from shyness, struggling with low self-esteem, trying to lose weight or quit smoking, preparing for the biggest challenge of your life, or just wanting to be happier, healthier, and more fulfilled-

 

Objectives

This seminar will provide you with a taster and you will learn scientifically-proven techniques to:
• reduce stress and worry
• rise above fear, doubt and insecurity
• develop genuine confidence
• handle painful thoughts and feelings far more effectively
• break self-defeating habits
• improve performance and find fulfillment in your work
• let go of inaccurate and misleading (but very popular) ideas about happiness
• build more satisfying relationships and, above all,
• create a rich, full and meaningful life

 

Content

Acceptance and mindfulness is a mental state of awareness, openness and focus. Mindfulness skills are simple to learn and will rapidly and effectively help you to reduce the impact and influence of painful feelings, let go of distressing or unhelpful thoughts, break the grip of self-defeating habits, and engage fully in your life.
