Terms of Reference

Aim


To work in partnership with management and staff of UCD to create a safe, inclusive and diverse working environment that encourages a culture of respect and equality for everyone regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity, in order that every individual can reach their full potential without fear of discrimination.

Objectives

  1. Provide a forum for networking, information sharing and peer support;
  2. Act as a consultation forum on LGBT equality and diversity related issues for UCD HR;
  3. Increase the visibility of the LGBT staff Network in UCD and engage in outreach activities with other LGBT organisations/communities and with wider society;
  4. Liaise with other groups, e.g., staff and student societies in other third level institutions in Ireland and abroad to share information and best practice;
  5. Encourage research, scholarship and teaching around the theme of sexual orientation, gender identity and equality and diversity.
