1) What is a School Information Resources Policy?

It is a policy designed to:

  • Facilitate the successful selection, management, promotion and use, through partnership between the Library and your School, of all resources supporting School teaching and research interests.

  • Optimise Library funds allocated to your School to ensure information resources are effectively matched to the School's strategic objectives.

 

2) What are Information Resources?

Information resources can be print or electronic. Examples include:

 

  Databases eBooks
  Newspapers Journals
  Books Theses
  Maps DVDs
     
     

3) What are the benefits to my School?

 

The benefits of an information resources policy for your School include:

  • Support for the strategic objectives and priorities of the School.

  • Alignment of resource development with PhD thematic research.

  • Development and management of resources to meet School teaching, learning and research interests.

  • Assistance with the identification of new information resources.

  • Enable proactive management of the collection.

  • Demonstrate the range of resources available to School users.

  • Promotion of range of interdisciplinary resources.
