The UCD Library Maps Collections

Our map collections are located in Special Collections, James Joyce Library, and Richview Library. We also have access to online maps.

Special Collections

Special Collections holds historical maps of Ireland and Dublin city and county. These can only be read in the Special Collections Reading Room. Highlights include:

• Campbell’s Dublin map of 1811
• Ordnance survey 6-inch maps from 1846 (featuring every county in Ireland except Carlow)
• John Rocque maps of Dublin and Ireland, 18th century.

Richview Library

Richview Library holds a collection of Ordnance Survey Ireland sheet maps ranging in scale from 1:1,000 to 1:575,000. Some series and editions can also be printed from OSi's E-Commerce service.
