Canon Patrick Power Collection

Special Collections holds the Canon Patrick Power Collection, which relates to Catholic Ireland and general Irish history of that period.

The Collection

  • This collection of books from the library of Canon Patrick Power contains rare and early editions from the 16th-19th centuries, relating to Catholic Ireland and general Irish history of that period.
  • It was purchased in 1948 and funded by Arthur Cox in memory of his father, Dr Michael Cox. This is marked by a bookplate in each of the books.
