During 2016 a range of spaces in the James Joyce Library were refurbished and improved. This work is being done to prepare for a future overall refurbishment of the James Joyce Library building.
The UCD Special Collections store has been extended and completely renovated during 2015 and 2016. Our rare and valuable heritage materials are now housed together in a modern, secure air-conditioned space, ensuring they are protected and preserved for future generations.
Research Services, formerly located on Level 3, have moved to a new location on Level 2 of the James Joyce Library. This new space has allowed us bring together the team who develop and deliver specialist and innovative services to UCD researchers and academic staff – including the UCD Digital Library, UCD Research Repository , Maps and Spatial information and measurement of research impact.
The Gents toilets on Level 2 of James Joyce Library, adjacent to the English bookstock and large study area in the centre of the Level 2 space were upgraded during summer 2016. The Library is grateful to UCD Estates for this refurbishment work, which will modernise and improve this toilet facility for our users.
We thank you for your patience and cooperation during these projects. We understand that it some cases it was an inconvenience to our users.
