UCD Library implemented a new online catalogue in July 2012. Therefore connection files in EndNote versions installed before that date are pointing to the old catalogue (which will be switched off).

If you have EndNote installed on your computer you need to update the connection file. To do this:

• Download this connection file and save it to your C drive > Program Files > EndNote X5 > Connections
• When prompted, replace the old file with the updated version

Modify the connection file only if you have EndNote installed on your computer. For EndNote on Software for U or on PCs in IT Services computer labs changes will be made by IT Services.

The connection file in EndNote Web will be updated by Thomson Reuters

What is EndNote?

With EndNote you can:

• Record, store and manage references
• Add references manually or search and download directly from online databases and library catalogues
• Use a feature called Cite While You Write which allows you to insert references and automatically create bibliographies for your papers in Microsoft Word 2010, as well as Apple’s Pages 09
• UCD currently supports version X5 of EndNote.

How can I access EndNote X5?
