Open Access mandates

The following funding agencies have open access requirements. Depositing to Research Repository UCD is the preferred method for meeting most of these funders’ requirements. Please consult the policy of your funder(s) for more information.

Other options

There are other options available for making your research open access. Check your funder’s policy above for their preferred method.

  • You can send your research to a subject repository, such as Arxiv or Pubmed Central. Some of these require you to be published or funded by particular organisations, such as the National Institute of Health.
  • Some publishers and journals are already open access or offer an open access option, often at a cost to the researcher.
