The Library Reading List Support Service

This page explains the current support the Library can provide with your student reading lists, so that they contain items that we have in our print or online collections.

To effectively support teaching and learning in the university, UCD Library endeavours to obtain a copy of every module reading list before the start of each new academic year.

Within the budgets available to us we aim to ensure that each title and adequate numbers of copies are available for students.

Academic Year: 2012/2013

  • Due to financial constraints, we regret that there are currently limited funds available to purchase new items for the 2012/13 teaching year.
  • Sending your reading list is still a good idea. We can ensure the material and copies available to us are placed in the most appropriate collection area depending on class size and the number of copies available - general collection / long loan; week loan; short loan; or reserve collection.
  • Items will be moved between collections, as required, to facilitate maximum use of resources by users.
  • Our College Liaison Librarians, assigned to work with Schools, can also help you identify items that the Library currently holds or has access to which may meet your reading list requirement. College Liaison Librarians can also highlight online e-books and other resources that may be of use.
