  • Research Interests:

  • Statistical Mechanics and Disordered Systems:
A mathematically rigourous approach to the study of Statistical Mechanics and related areas is adopted. By using methods of functional analysis and probability theory intuitive treatments in these areas are made exact and extended to give new results. These methods, in particular the theory of large derivative are used to treat interacting quantum systems, especially Boson systems to examine the existence of Bose-Einstein Condensation.

Another area of interest is the study of systems of electrons in the presence of a random potential in a magnetic field. This has significant consequences in the theory of the Quantum Hall effect. Related to this is the application of methods of functional integration Brownian motion to the study of diamagnetic currents in quantum systems.Probabilistic methods are used to study polymers in random media.

    Current Collaboration:

This research is carried out in collaboration with amongst others, EPFL (Switzerland), University of Lille (France), Marseille (France), DIAS.
