The four year Degree in Mathematical Science was set up in response to the growing demands from Industry, Commerce, Science and Technology for professional Mathematicians. In an increasing number of these areas, Mathematics is the only effective language for the analysis of problems and communication of results and ideas. This is recognition that Mathematics is now essential in many areas and plays a critical role.

Entrance Scholarships

Mathematical Science aims through leading edge courses to equip students for active careers in Industry, Commerce and Research as professional Mathematicians and Statisticians. The BSc in Mathematical Science is designed to offer the student a thorough grounding in the the main areas of Mathematics and its applications.
The first two years form a core course. The third year structure offers the student some options but continues to provide a broad education in the Mathematical Sciences. The fourth year offers a wide variety of options giving the student the opportunity to specialize.
