The four year Degree in Mathematical
Science was set up in response to the growing demands from Industry, Commerce,
Science and Technology for professional Mathematicians. In an increasing
number of these areas, Mathematics is the only effective language for the
analysis of problems and communication of results and ideas. This is recognition
that Mathematics is now essential in many areas and plays a critical role.

in the the main areas of Mathematics and its applications.
The first two years form a core course. The third
year structure offers the student some options but continues to provide
a broad education in the Mathematical Sciences. The fourth year offers
a wide variety of options giving the student the opportunity to specialize.
