Outreach Activities in the UCD School of Mathematical Sciences

The UCD School of Mathematical Sciences offers various outreach programs and seminars designed to showcase the many different disciplines that the School has to offer to incoming and current students.

November 27 2012, Mathematical Sciences, Actuarial and Financial Studies Open Evening

The UCD School of Mathematical Sciences welcomes students, teachers and parents to an evening which will include talks in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial and Financial Studies and Applied and Computational Mathematics. Mathematical Enrichment Programme in Association with the International Mathematical Olympiad

The International Mathematical Olympiad(IMO) is the World Championship Mathematics Competition for High School students and is held annually in a different country. The first IMO was held in 1959 in Romania, with 7 countries participating. It has gradually expanded to over 100 countries from 5 continents. The IMO Advisory Board ensures that the competition takes place each year and that each host country observes the regulations and traditions of the IMO.  Please click here for further information

 

Undergraduate Ambassador Scheme Module 30060

The Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme (UAS) module is a module offered by the UCD School of Mathematical Sciences, University College Dublin. This module offers Stage 3 or Stage 4 undergraduates who have taken an appropriate level of undergraduate mathematics, the chance to work with mathematics teachers and students in local secondary schools. The undergraduate receives five academic credits for successful completion of the module and this contributes towards his or her final degree.  Please click here for further information
