Hamilton Prize awarded to UCD student Suzanne Burns
On Tuesday 16th October, UCD student Suzanne Burns received the Hamilton Prize at the Royal Irish Academy. A prize is awarded to the best student in mathematical sciences in each university in Ireland. Professor Gary McGuire attended as the representative of the UCD School of Mathematical Sciences

School of Mathematical Sciences researchers win EPA award to study extreme climate change
UCD School of Mathematical Sciences researchers Dr Andrew Parnell and Dr Conor Sweeney have been awarded a grant by the EPA to study the nature of extreme climate changes in Ireland.

UCD School of Mathematical Sciences Open Evening November 27th 2012
The UCD School of Mathematical Sciences welcomed over 100 students to an evening on November 27th which included talks in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial and Financial Studies and Applied and Computational Mathematics. Students travelled from Cork, Limerick, Waterford, Wexford, Wicklow, the surrounding areas of Dublin and further afield to attend the event.
