Doireann O'Kieley wins Lighthill-Thwaites Prize (posted 17.05.17)

Congratulations to UCD graduate, Doireann O'Kieley, who has won a significant prize for early-stage researchers working in applications of mathematics.

She has been awarded the biennial (opens in a new window)Lighthill-Thwaites Prize for her work on the production of thin glass sheets. The prize is awarded by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications to researchers who have spent no more than five years in full-time study or work since completing their undergraduate degrees

Doireann graduated from UCD with a degree in Theoretical Physics in 2012. She is currently doing her PhD in Oxford.
