QS Subject Area Rankings 2013 (19/06/13)
UCD was the only Irish university to make the top 200 worldwide in the QS Subject Area rankings in Statistics. The Statistics & Actuarial Science discipline has eleven full time academic staff members, fourteen postgraduate research students, and has undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes in statistics, mathematical science and actuarial science.
The statistics and actuarial science group are involved in a wide variety of research areas including bayesian computational statistics; network modelling clustering and classification; mortality modelling; pensions; social and official statistics; spatial statistics and epidemiology.
