Online Programmes in Data Analytics - Frequently Asked Questions

The Professional Diploma is 1 year long, delivered through 2 trimesters (September to following May)

The MSc is 3 years, delivered through 9 trimesters (Autumn, Spring and Summer trimester each year)

These programmes are offered part time online only.

If you are interested in studying full time on campus please consider our (opens in a new window)MSc and (opens in a new window)MA in Statistics or (opens in a new window)MSc Data and Computational Science.

The online Professional Diploma and MSc are offered, delivered and supported by academics in the UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics.

Both the Msc and Professional Diploma start in September. The Professional Certificate starts in May. 

If you decide not to continue with the programme part of the way through, then you will have the option to exit with another qualification depending on how many credits you have completed:

2 modules (10 credit) = Professional Certificate

4 modules (20 credits) = Professional Diploma

6 modules (30 credits) = Graduate Certificate

12 modules (60 credits) = Graduate Diploma

18 modules (90 credits) = MSc

N.B There is no option to apply for the above mentioned directly except the Professional Diploma and MSc.
