Candidates should have engineering degrees which are accredited for corporate membership (MIEI) of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland or of equivalent status in a similar professional Institution. Science and other technology graduates may also be eligible. Typically participants will have a number of years experience since graduation. In certain cases, candidates with a minimum of one years experience may be accepted. Participants are chosen after an interview. The Programme starts in September each year and runs for two academic years. Examinations are held in May. Attendance is required for nine hours per week, on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. The learning process is augmented by project work, case studies and short assignments. Participants are assessed using a combination of continuous assessment throughout the year and end of year examinations. In certain instances, the course may be completed on a modular basis over a period of up to four years. Fees for students entering the MIE Programme in 2006/2007 are €7500.00 per annum. Applications are now being taken for the Programme starting in mid-September 2006. Download application forms.
