Ireland's First Academic Medical Centre
Together with our main clinical partners, the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and St Vincent's Healthcare Group, we are creating Ireland's first patient focused academic health system, Dublin Academic Medical Centre (DAMC).
Established in 2007, the DAMC initially focused on the integration of research and education activities across the three institutions. It is now proceeding with the full merger of the two hospitals and the strengthing of the relationship between the combined entity with the University.
From an academic and clinical perspective, the DAMC is led by the Chief Academic Officer, Professor William G. Powderly who chairs the DAMC Medical Executive. Professor Powderly is also Dean of Medicine and Head of School, UCD School of Medicine & Medical Science.
