Delegation from Emory University Vists UCD School of Medicine
The delegation from Emory School of Medicine included Dean Thomas J. Lawley, Dean of Medicine at Emory, Professor Ray Dingledine, Executive Associate Dean for Research, Dr. Bill Eley, Executive Associate Dean for Medical Education/Student Affairs and Dr. Ruth O'Regan, Associate Professor at Emory University.
In welcoming the delegation from Emory, Professor Patrick Murray, Associate Dean for International Affairs at UCD School of Medicine and Medical Science said, "Our relationship with Emory University is hugely important to the Medical School at UCD. Our partnership, built and developed over many years, is based on mutual regard for the manner in which we shape and educate our students. That partnership has real and demonstrable benefits for UCD students, who compete each year for highly-prized summer elective opportunities, one of which is based at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia."
On Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd May 2012, faculty members from UCD School of Medicine presented to the delegation various aspects of the School's business including curricular evolution, research focus, educational philosophy and the UCD student experience.
