Dr Jonathan McNulty Elected to the Executive Board of the European Federation of Radiographer Societies
The European Federation of Radiographer Societies (EFRS) represents over 100,000 Radiographers and over 8,000 students across Europe through 36 national societies or professional bodies who are full members and 45 academic institutions who are affiliate members. During the EFRS AGM held in Coimbra, Portugal, on the 7th and 8th of November, Dr Jonathan McNulty (Diagnostic Imaging, SMMS) was elected to the Executive Board (2014-2017) where he will be responsible for education, training and research matters and will represent the EFRS in a number of fora including the European Commission, WHO, International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists, European Society of Radiology, European Congress of Radiology and across a number of EU-funded research projects.
Dr McNulty was also appointed as EFRS Treasurer and will be the Board liaison with the HENRE management team (educational wing of the EFRS) where Dr Louise Rainford (Diagnostic Imaging, SMMS) continues to be a member of the management team. Thus both Dr McNulty and Dr Rainford are leading the enhancement of Radiography education at a European level. The role of the EFRS is to “represent, promote and develop the profession of Radiography in Europe, within the whole range of medical imaging, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy and moreover everything that is directly or indirectly related or beneficial to this role, everything in the broadest meaning.”
