Clinical Commencement 'White Coat' Ceremony
The ceremony marks the transition from preclinical to clinical medical education and is a symbol of the professional responsibilities that students will assume throughout their clinical life. The Dean of Medicine, Professor Patrick T Murray, led the ceremony which saw over 300 students being officially presented with their white coats by members of the faculty.
The event was also beamed around the world via live stream so that family members and friends who are abroad could enjoy the ceremony. We were also honoured to have former Olympian Mr. Gary O’Toole, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon & Senior Clinical Lecturer deliver an outstanding keynote speech to the students and everyone who had gathered to support them.
