Applications are now invited for MD and PhD Medical Traineeships in Human Anatomy for the next academic year (2018/2019). The Scholarships, which will offer 75% of student fees plus a taxfree stipend of €18,000 p.a., will commence in September 2018. Research Masters and MCh scholarships are also available. Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 9th March 2018.
A recent paper by Dunican et al describes the use of multi-detector computed tomography to stratify patients with severe asthma. The radiographic approach for quantifying airway mucus plugs suggests that treating mucus plugs may improve airflow in chronic severe asthma.
Congratulations to Dr Christine Kiel, senior investigator at UCD Systems Biology Ireland who was recently awarded a SFI President of Ireland Future Research Leaders Award.
