Success at Dr Henry Hutchinson Stewart Scholarships and Prizes Competition
Three medicine students took home awards and prizes at the annual Dr Henry Hutchinson Stewart Scholarships and Prizes Competition, administered by the National University of Ireland. Hilary Dowdall, Dearbhla Doherty and Julia Gleize won prizes in pharmacology, pathology and physiology respectively.
UCD Hosts International Conference on Breast Cancer in Young Women
University College Dublin, in association with St Vincent's University Hospital and the European School of Oncology hosted an international conference on breast cancer in young women from 8th-10th November 2012. The conference included presentations from leading international breast cancer experts on a range of issues including surgery, genetics, fertility preservation and mental health implications of diagnoses.

U21 Workshop on UN Millennium Development Goals at Lund University
In summer 2012, five medicine students were selected by their peers to represent the School at the Universitas 21 Workshop on the Millennium Development Goals (MGDs) at Lund University, Sweden. Upon their return, the five students were asked to pen and submit a reflective piece that captured their experiences.
